The role of soot silica and silica soot cements

Today, concrete as the most widely used construction material is an integral part of the urban construction industry and infrastructure. Therefore, improving mechanical properties and its durability in damaging environments along with reducing the environmental impacts of cement production and cement base materials is of great importance. The use of soot silica in cement and concrete base materials as a mineral additive and cement substitute improves mechanical properties and improves the reliability of these materials against most destructive phenomena of concrete and provides the possibility of achieving structures with high useful life. In this paper, the properties of soot silica and concrete made with this pozzolani material are investigated. Improving mechanical properties, reducing permeability and improving the durability of concrete in most damaging environments are the advantages of using soot silica as an alternative material for Portland cement.
